Introduction

The Level 2 Gym Instructor course is the pre-requisite to all other courses in the fitness sector. Once you’ve completed this you can then go on to the Level 3 Personal Trainer course which is the platform from which you’ll start to build your career in fitness.

This course will guide you through every step of the way. There are mini quizzes at the end of each section that you will need to pass in order to progress to the next stage. All topics that you will see in the final exams will feature in the quizzes, so make sure you pay attention as you go and you’ll be 100% prepared to pass the exams.

Gym instructors provide a key role within health and fitness settings and are considered by many as the ‘face’ of the organisation. Following a successful membership sale, gym instructors are normally the next person a new customer will interact with, therefore they need to be welcoming and professional, building a positive rapport and making the member feel at ease.

Gym instructors provide valuable technical input, therefore they must have a strong knowledge and understanding of how the body reacts to exercise. This will help them to support clients with their goals and guide them through positive behaviour change, whilst also ensuring the health and safety of members is maintained throughout their visit.

This course aims to cover all of these areas in depth, providing you with the knowledge and understanding needed to have a successful career in the health and fitness industry.

  3. Conducting client consultations to support positive behaviour change
  4. Planning and instructing gym-based exercise
  5. Principles of anatomy, physiology and fitness
