Mental Health Awareness
This qualification combines both theoretical elements and practical application. It aims to increase awareness of mental health, including what it is, how it can change and how common ill mental health is and to reduce stigma and discrimination.
In addition to this, the qualification also equips you with the basic skills to carry out the procedures of mental health first aid and be able to respond appropriately when others are experiencing a mental health crisis.
The course is broken up into 2 mandatory Lessons:
- Mental health awareness
- Mental health first aid
The course has been designed to be as interactive as possible and therefore you will find a number of ‘Discussion’ and ‘Activity’ boxes.
The activities within the course are wide-ranging and may include reading articles or watching videos which require you to access the internet, as well as tasks which help reinforce what you have learnt or knowledge checks.
Within the mental health first aid unit, you will also find case study scenarios in which you will be asked to apply the knowledge and skills that you will have learnt.

Our courses are delivered online with no set start or assessment dates giving you maximum flexibility to learn at your own pace.
You’ll find a combination of written and video content delivered by our team of expert tutors, which has been designed to give you the best level of education and leave you feeling ready to hit the ground running upon completion.
Learning Experience
We have designed a service that provides the level of interaction and support you’d expect from a face to face course, delivered online.
You won’t be left to figure it out for yourself, you’ll receive 1 to 1 support throughout the course via video and email and can expect a response from one of our expert coaches whenever you need it.
Workbooks – There are interactive workbooks embedded throughout the course that you complete as you go. These include a range of question types testing your understanding of the course content, and helping you to retain the key topics you’ll use with your own clients.
Practicals – Working with a friend or family as your client, you’ll take them through a typical client journey including a consultation, nutrition guidance, a personalised programme, PT session and more.
You carry them out at your own gym and film them, then upload the videos to be assessed using our easy uploader.
Call – If you need more interactive help you can schedule a voice or video call with a tutor at any point during your course to help with anything you need.
Direct Debit Payment Plan – Choose between 6, 12, 18 and 24 months and spread the cost of your course interest free with no credit checks.
